What can I say about the Mueller Park Trail besides WOW! This hike is so beautiful, relaxing, and fun! We’ve gone a couple times and it’s
Nathan and I discovered this trail while driving around Bountiful. If you hike the entire trail it is about 13 miles round trip. But, there is a beautiful look out called Elephant Rock that is roughly 4 miles up the mountain. We decided to stop here – and hike out to the massive granite rock sticking out of the mountain. The hike to the Elephant Rock look out is 8 miles round trip, and is family, biker, dog, and jogger friendly. There was a gradual incline up the mountain, but it honestly wasn’t bad at all.
The only cons to this hike – it is a very popular trail, and the trail isn’t very wide. You will find yourself scooting over to the side and letting mountain bikers and joggers pass by quite often.
Definitely recommend this hike to anyone in Utah trying to get into hiking, and wanting to get a little more ambitious than Ensign Peak. The views are just incredible and I promise it does not feel like 8 miles.
